So much for summer vacation. There's been a ton of great new tunes leaking out these last couple weeks, and the music blogs are poppin' off and bubbling over.

If you've had other things to do (like, um, work... or go outside... or eat...) and haven't had the time to keep up, we've got you covered. Spend 45 minutes in our company and you will be back on the bleeding edge by minute 46. We've been checking in with all the most influential music+mp3 blogs across the ol' interweb, and we have it all summed up for you right here.

And speaking of good company, we have our favorite expatriate (and DJ and blogger and girl who says funny stuff alot), Gurj Bassi, back on the show this week. Abbey saddled up her horses and took the caravan down to Bonnaroo, so Gurj kindly dropped by the studio to handle guest hosting duties again. Like a pro.

Finally, you may have noticed that we are posting the show mid-week, instead of our usual Monday. This is the new plan. We want to make sure Blog Fresh is as fresh as can be when it reaches you (yes, like a veritable loaf of Wonder Bread) and give you a batch of new tunes to take into your weekend, so this it how it's gonna be from now on. Call us "Bob Geldof" if you want but... we just didn't like Mondays. But we do like the tracks on this week's show an awful lot. And so will you. Dig!
