IT'S WHAT THE MUSIC BLOGS ARE LISTENING TO!

Hi All,

September is gone and that can only mean one thing -- ROCKTOBER. For whatever reason, that word never stops being funny. We once tried making every month a "ROCK" month, which worked okay for September and November and December, but then you get all those one syllable months in the spring and summer and it just falls apart.

So in accordance, our first show of ROCKTOBER features '60s-inspired swinger pop, synth pop from Sweden, and '70s disco mavens Hot Chocolate. No joke. We approach "rocking" with Foreign Born and the Devestations, though. And this new British Sea Power track -- our Blog Fresh Chart selection -- most definitely rocks. (Their new album is titled Do You Like Rock Music? perhaps as a warning.) But "rocking" is a state of mind, anyway. That's what Michael McDonald would say, at least.

We also welcome two new members to the Blog Fresh Posse -- Liz from Chicago's Headphones On and Marlow of Brooklyn's Untouched by Work or Duty, and we are stoked to have them aboard. And in one of our more informative segments ever (really!), James from Yer Mam! explains the difference between a remix and an edit -- hence the Hot Chocolate track. Speaking of, it's getting chilly outside Blog Fresh Towers. A mug of Swiss Miss sounds pretty good right now. Who wants one?
